Connect MATERIAM to Claude, ChatGPT or any tool that supports MCP, and your assistant can upload or design a part, check that we can make it, and get the price our website would show you.
No account or API key is needed to connect.
On claude.ai or the desktop app, open Settings, then Connectors, choose Add custom connector, paste the server URL and select Add. Then turn MATERIAM on in a chat from the tools menu.
Turn on developer mode in Settings, Apps and Connectors, Advanced, then create a connector with the server URL and no authentication. ChatGPT runs the tools that upload or change parts only on its Business, Enterprise and Edu plans.
Add a remote server over Streamable HTTP with the server URL. In Claude Code, for example:

No. Connecting and quoting need no account. To see the shipping cost and order, you sign up for free on materiam.com when you open the project link.
Each project is reachable only with the key your assistant receives. Projects made through AI assistants are deleted after 7 days unless you open them in your MATERIAM account.
Yes. Your assistant gets the price our website shows for the same parts, materials, finishes and quantities, before shipping.
STEP files (.step, .stp) of sheet-metal parts, tubes, bars, structural shapes and assemblies. Flat DXF and SVG drawings can be uploaded on materiam.com.
Files of up to 10 MB, up to 25 files in a project, and an hourly limit on uploads from one address.
