Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

MATERIAM, S.A.P.I. de C.V. ("MATERIAM", "we") runs materiam.com and makes the parts ordered there at its plant at San Isidro Business Park, Carretera Libre Querétaro – San Luis Potosí Km. 26+150, 76223 Querétaro, Mexico. Our affiliate Amatix, Inc., 3601 NE Loop 820, Suite 107, Fort Worth, TX 76137, USA, handles orders, imports and service for customers in the United States. Dayra Ortiz is the person in charge of personal data at MATERIAM, including requests to exercise your rights. Questions about this policy: hello@materiam.com.

Customers in Mexico are also covered by our Aviso de Privacidad Integral, which governs where Mexican law requires it.

2. What we collect

• Account and contact data: name, company, job title, email, phone number, billing and shipping addresses.
• Tax data (Mexico): RFC, tax regime and CFDI use, to issue invoices.
• Orders and payments: quotes, orders and payment status. Card payments are processed by Stripe; we never receive or store full card numbers.
• Your files: the CAD files you upload (STEP, DXF, SVG) and what we derive from them to quote and make your parts: part geometry, flat patterns, pictures, bending simulations and prices.
• Technical data: IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, the page that sent you to us, session identifiers, and the approximate location (country, region, city and network) we work out from the IP address on our own servers.
• Messages: what you write to us by email or through the site.

3. AI assistants

You can connect an AI assistant, such as Claude or ChatGPT, to MATERIAM at https://materiam.com/mcp. When the assistant uses our tools on your behalf:

• We receive only what the assistant sends to our tools: files or part descriptions, the choices of material, finish, color and quantity, and the destination country (United States or Mexico). We do not receive your conversation with the assistant.
• We record the IP address each request comes from, usually the AI provider's server, to enforce upload limits and protect the service.
• Each project is reachable only with the key returned to the assistant. Projects created this way are deleted after 7 days unless you open them in your MATERIAM account, after which they are kept like any other project in your account.
• We also keep a copy of the files for 90 days to check that our processing works and to fix errors, then delete it.
• Your conversation with the assistant is governed by the AI provider's own privacy policy.

4. How we use your data

• To quote, manufacture, pack and ship your parts, and to invoice and collect payment.
• To run your account and answer your messages.
• To check that our file processing works and to fix errors, using copies of uploaded files.
• To keep the site and the service secure, including upload limits and fraud prevention.
• To improve our quoting and manufacturing, using aggregated information.
• To send you news about MATERIAM, unless you opt out. You can opt out at any time by writing to hello@materiam.com; it does not affect your orders.

5. Your designs

Your files are treated as confidential. We use them only to quote, make and ship your parts and to operate the service, and we do not sell them. A non-disclosure agreement is available on request.

6. Who we share data with

• Stripe, to process payments.
• Carriers, such as FedEx and Estafeta, to deliver your order.
• Envia, to get shipping rates: it receives the delivery address and the recipient's name, email and phone.
• OpenStreetMap or FedEx, to check that a shipping address exists.
• Cloudflare, to check that the sign-up, password-reset and contact forms are sent by people, not bots.
• Technology providers that host and run the site, email and storage for us, under contracts that protect the data.
• Google, to measure site visits and the results of our ads (Google Analytics and Google Ads).
• Amatix, Inc., our US affiliate, for US orders, imports, accounting and service.
• Authorities, when the law requires it.

We do not sell personal data.

7. How long we keep it

• Projects made through an AI assistant: 7 days, unless you open them in your account.
• Projects made on the website without signing in: deleted when your browsing session expires, unless you sign in during that session.
• Copies of uploaded files, on the website or through an AI assistant: kept for 90 days to check that our processing works, fix errors and help with support, then deleted, whether or not the project still exists.
• Account, order and invoice data: while your account is open, and afterwards for as long as tax and commercial law require.
• Access logs (IP address, pages and times) and the locations worked out from them: 12 months, then deleted. After 12 months we also remove the IP address and browser details from our visitor records and from contact messages.

8. Cookies

We use cookies to keep you signed in, remember your language and store, and measure how the site performs. Google Analytics and the Google Ads tag set cookies to measure visits and the results of our ads. You can block cookies in your browser, but signing in, quoting and ordering need them.

9. Your rights

You can ask us to show, correct or delete your personal data, or to stop using it for a purpose, by writing to Dayra Ortiz at hello@materiam.com. We answer within 20 business days. Customers in Mexico can exercise their ARCO rights as described in the Aviso de Privacidad Integral. If a privacy law where you live gives you further rights, write to us and we will honor them as that law requires.

10. Security

We protect your data with administrative, technical and physical safeguards. No system is completely secure, and we will notify you as the law requires if a breach affects your data.

11. International transfers

We operate in Mexico and the United States, and some of the providers listed above work from other countries, so your data may be processed outside the country where you live, with the safeguards described here.

12. Children

The site and the AI connector are for business use and are not directed to children under 13.

13. Changes

We will post changes on this page with a new date, and email you about significant changes.
